Would you fly across the planet for a crush? Welcome to a stand-up show about bad relationships, worse boundaries, and doing anything to be loved. And also a lot of queer politics. And jokes about body parts, gotta have those. And some stuff about fashion, you like fashion, don't you? You like jokes, right? Is this what you wanted?

This is, believe it or not, part of happeningfish's practice-based PhD on emotional labour, affective labour, and transgender stand-up comedy, exploring the relationships between laughter as activism, the limits of allyship, self-deprecation and survival, and what we can understand about each other. But let's be clear: it's a stand-up show with a lot of embarrassing and dirty jokes.

happeningfish is the sort of comic who is equal parts filthy and philosophical, who finds sublime humanity in butt jokes and who uses comedy as the vehicle to make sense of what we're doing to ourselves and each other in this life.

After his first transition solo "Gender Euphoria" came "Cuck", a stand-up study on transgender fatherhood, and "IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED?" follows in their footsteps.

For over ten years happeningfish has been making stand-up comedy, running shows like Punch Up! Resistance and Glitter, The Attic Underground, Feminist Comedy Night, and is part of the queer comedy crew Qoomikot. Based in Helsinki, happeningfish has performed across Canada, the USA, the UK, Singapore, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and the Netherlands.
