Final days of Tallinn Fringe | 10 Days of Burlesque, Ballet, Comedy, and more

Published on September 10, 2024

The eighth Tallinn Fringe Festival is reaching its final stretch, and the last ten days will bring the audience burlesque, ballet, comedy, music, and improv theater. The program features more than 45 performances, offering experiences every evening. The Tallinn Fringe runs until September 18.

The programme at burlesque bar Heldeke! will offer comedy, music, sauna, burlesque, and cabaret. The stage will feature comedy shows about absurd adventures of turning 30 and a self-ironic stand-up "The Other Asians", which delves into cross-cultural experiences. "The Gong Show" will challenge comedians to compete who can make the audience laugh the fastest. At the weekend, the stage will be taken over by extravagant burlesque artists, shimmering with glitter, flirtation, and humor.

In the cozy café Ratas & Kohv, comedian and writer Tatiana Akopova will talk about  funny ways to gain self-esteem. The comedy evening “Coffee and Comedy” will present a mix of local and international comedians, including Aleksandr Popov, Vivek Ravi, and Benjamin Heckscher.

Winkel will host the last english-only Open Mic during Tallinn Fringe.

At the IMPEERIUM teatrisaal, collective IMPEERIUM will showcase top-notch improv theater in the show “Improv Comedy in Gibberish”.

No knowledge of any language necessary - all comic scenes are improvised by only using sounds, emotions, gibberish and body-language.

At Ruutu10 Tallinn Improv Center, the audience can discover the behind-the-scenes life of improvisation in Caspar Schjelbred's “Improvisation Workshop: The Clown-Hero’s Journey”. Additionally, Caspar will show how an improviser's mind works in the performance “The Supreme Art of Improvisation.”

At Philly Joe's Jazz Club, Very Cool People from Riga brings jazz and funk to the dance floor. On the final night of the festival, RMF-Collective will perform music that combines improvisation with unexpected musical rhythms.
