Our festival director, Dan Renwick, covered a full 42.2km across both sides of the Gulf of Finland to help close our funding gap. 🟢 Where Your Money Actually Goes#

Tallinn Fringe Festival is open-access. This means artists and venues arrange their own shows directly, so your donation never pays a performer's fee or covers someone's hotel.

It funds the part nobody sees: coordinating shows across 30 venues, local and international marketing, permits, connecting international producers with artists, providing artist and venue support, plus the year-round admin that keeps a month-long festival standing and running. Not glamorous. Completely necessary.

Can I designate my support for a specific artist or show?

You can support individual artists directly by purchasing a ticket to their performance or using any direct support links they provide on their show pages. Donations made directly on this page go toward funding the essential central administration, coordination, permits, and promotional groundwork required to run the overall festival.

Where does my ticket money go?

Tallinn Fringe takes 0% commission on box office sales. Depending on the individual contract between a performer and a venue, they split ticket revenue between themselves; the central festival administration takes no cut whatsoever. Donations made on this page support the essential central operations (coordinating 30+ venues, municipal permits, international marketing, and producer networking) that make hosting the festival possible.

Does my donation pay for artist accommodation or travel?

No. Because Tallinn Fringe is an open-access festival, artists arrange their travel and accommodation independently. Your contribution on this page strictly supports central festival operations, marketing, producer networking, and administrative requirements.

How can I help if I can't donate right now?

The best way to help without spending money is to attend shows, bring friends, and share festival events on social media. Word-of-mouth promotion directly drives ticket sales for self-producing performers.
