The Beautiful Chaos of an Open-Access Program

If you are wondering what exactly is going to be in this first drop… honestly, your guess is as good as ours!

Because Tallinn Fringe is a strictly open-access, uncurated festival, we don’t hand-pick the artists or gatekeep the art. Instead, local and international performers register independently, match up with independent venues across the city, and build their own schedules.

What does that mean for you? It means our program behaves like a living, breathing organism. Artists and venues are adding new acts, unexpected performance styles, and pop-up locations constantly. The list of shows you see on June 18th is just the starting point—it’s going to keep growing and evolving every single day as we creep closer to the festival.

What is Tallinn Fringe Festival?

For the uninitiated, Tallinn Fringe is a month-long explosion of professional, multi-genre, short-form performances taking over alternative spaces all across Tallinn. From 18. August to 18. September 2026, the city will turn into a sprawling playground for risk-taking art.

You can expect a massive melting pot of genres, including:

Because the shows are designed to be short—usually around 60 minutes—it’s incredibly easy to “Fringe hop.” You can grab a drink, watch a bizarre piece of physical theater at 19:00, and stroll down the street to catch a filthy stand-up set or a glittering burlesque show at 21:00.

Lock in the Date

Set an alarm, bookmark the page, and get ready to secure your spots for the first confirmed shows. The art is raw, the venues are intimate, and tickets for the most anticipated acts will go fast. See you on the Fringe!
