Tallinn Fringe Festival is halfway through. Culture, nightlife, technology and education are integral parts of the fringe. Tallinn Night Mayor and renowned cultural expert Natalie Mets shares her recommendations for the third week of the festival. The festival runs until September 18.

The third week continues with the same energy as the first two, bringing the audience the best bits of stand-up comedy, theater, cabaret, music, and drag. Performances are available in Estonian, English, and Russian, offering something for every taste.

From September 2–8, the Mouthy pop-up stage will host a week of Russian-language stand-up comedy, featuring talented comedians from Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia. Throughout the week, the Fem stand-up club will perform alongside the Tallinn-based women’s group P*ssy Jam Comedy. The programme includes “1+1 split shows”, where the audience can enjoy two comedians performing together. For those looking for something different, there is a unique opportunity to see Anastasiia Zakrevska’s musical and humorous stand-up performance.

Additionally, Mouthy pop-up will feature Russian-speaking comedian Sofia Kamara from Paris, whose show “Black Russian” explores what it’s like to be a black Russian in Russia and Europe. In the “Stand-up Concert “Legalization”, two cheerful Dutch comedians talk about life, the challenges of integration, and the peculiarities of Dutch culture. All of the above shows are in russian.

At Kalamaja’s legendary burlesque bar Heldeke!, a former Jehovah’s Witness performs a comedy “Awake, Gay and Writing a Play”. This one-man autobiographical show tells the story of overcoming faith and beliefs, followed by the delirium that ensues when stepping into the vastness of previously forbidden world.

On September 6, the Late Night Cabaret Night will be hosted by the talented stand-up comedian Ann Vaida.

On September 7, HUNGR will host a glamorous Drag Show evening with the House of Pedestrian! Find the Tallinn Fringe Festival programme HERE.
