Promotion
Is hugely important and you will have to have a strong promo game to get your shows full.
Tallinn Fringe is a great place to test out strategies and workout how to best find your audience.
Each show will require a different solution and approach, there are general practices but also you need to tailor-make your strategy to your show.
This requires time, enthusiasm, money and knowledge.
Reach out to the festival if you need support and ideas. We won’t make the decisions for you but we can help you make better informed decisions.
We do run in-person and online educational events about promotion and marketing before the festival.
Quick notes
First, work out who your ideal audience member would be. You may have more than 1.
Then create a visual and show text that will entice, be engaging and be understandable for your ideal audience members.
Remember audiences will
judge your show on the quality of your visual.
spend less than 10 seconds reading your show text.
So make sure you get the visual and text enticing, exciting and understandable for your target audience. Then you have the best chance of them buying a ticket.
Start working on your promotion strategy and executing it early. Yep, do 1 bit every week and it’ll make everything during Fringe so much easier.
If you leave everything to the last minute, to just promote during Fringe then you quite possibly will be disappointed with your Fringe run.

Social Media
Here is a list of FB groups you should join and post in.
Please remember that you should post in Estonian in Estonian groups to make sure you have the best impact, even if your show is in English.
Here an easy sentence to drop into Estonian FB groups
I’m performing at Tallinn Fringe, come check out my show! = Ma esinen Tallinna Fringe festivalil, tulge mu šõud vaatama!
Or also ask your venue to help with some quick translations. Don’t use Google Translate, it will most probably not be correct and you’ll come across sounding weird.
